VVCS Group Programs

VVCS group programs aim to improve the quality of life of veterans and their families and complement counselling and other services that promote recovery through prevention, early intervention, and treatment.
All group programs are provided at no cost to eligible participants.

VVCS Group programs can:
- Help improve your physical health – Heart Health
- Develop your quality of life – Residential Lifestyle
- Help with transition from the ADF – Stepping Out
- Help with emotional regulation – Doing Anger Differently, Beating the Blues or Mastering Anxiety
- Help you get a better nights sleep – Sleeping Better
- Be in charge of your alcohol intake – Changing the Mix
- Improve your relationships – Building Better Relationships
- Help you take care of your mates – Operation Life
- Help F-111 deseal-reseal workers and their partners develop their quality of life – F-111 Residential Lifestyle Program

Statements of Principles Updates

At the meeting of 6 & 7 December 2011 the RMA: Determined Statements of Principles (SoPs) for:

• conjunctivitis………………….. …….......…1/2012 & 2/2012
• acute infectious mononucleosis…..….…...3/2012 & 4/2012
• psoriatic arthropathy……………....…........5/2012 & 6/2012
• adhesive capsulitis of the shoulder.....……7/2012 & 8/2012
• aortic aneurysm…………………….....……9/2012 & 10/2012
• dementia pugilistica……………….....….…11/2012 & 12/2012

(These SoPs revoke the SoPs previously determined for these conditions).

All of the above SoPs will take effect from 11 January 2012.

These determinations conclude the previously advertised investigations into:
• conjunctivitis
• symptomatic Epstein-Barr virus infection [now known as: acute infectious mononucleosis]
• psoriatic arthropathy
• adhesive capsulitis of the shoulder
• aortic aneurysm
• dementia pugilistica

At the meeting of 6 December, the RMA: Decided to advertise the following investigations:

•traumatic brain injury
•periodic limb movement disorder
•chronic venous insufficiency of the lower limb

The Investigation Notices for these investigations appeared in the Government Notices Gazette of 14 December 2011.

TAC Refresher training

TIP National is currently planning TAC Refresher training for 2012.
The course will go ahead if there are sufficient nominations at a time and location to be advised.
If you have attended a TAC Advocate course and wish to attend the TAC Refresher course, a completed nomination form should be returned to the TIP office no later than February 27th.

Travel and Accommodation Reimbursement

A reminder to all ESOs that as from 01 July 2012, there will be no reimbursement available for travel and accommodation costs for those who attend TIP training courses.
ESOs should now be forecasting their expected training requirements for the 2012-13 financial year in order to take the appropriate action in your BEST submission to cover costs for reimbursement of travel and accommodation for your ESO’s attendees at TIP training.
